Paint Effects

John Green Décor has undergone extensive training in various specialised decorative effects and finishes which we have been able to put into practice on various commissions over the years. We are continually widening our skills base with challenging new projects driven by the latest products on the market and the latest fashions and trends. These range from painting wooden furniture to custom made stencilling on walls. If you have a decorative idea or vision for a wall or piece of furniture, then John Green Decor are enthusiastic and realistic in realising those visions.

The pictures below show a plain white external stone column which we then created a faux marble effect on. This entailed applying two coats of white eggshell; then mixing a glaze of three equal parts of white spirit, linseed oil and white undercoat. The glaze was applied and then we mixed a small amount of Paynes grey artist oil to achieve a mottled effect. Rag and softened. Then using a round fitch, created veins from same glaze and artist oil, and softened to finish. It was protected by two coats of clear varnish.
